Igor Snedkov

Igor Snedkov - talented accordion and button accordion player and outstanding educator and performer. Born on January 10, 1954 in Yenakiyevo, Donetsk region.

From 1974-1979 studied at the Kharkiv Art Institute and from 1982-1985 held an internship at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.

Soloist of the Kharkiv Philharmonic since 1979. From 1982-1990 he taught button accordion at the Kharkiv Music College.

Since 1990 has taught in the Department of Folk Instruments at the Kharkiv State University of the Arts Associate Professor since 1996 and Professor since 2002.

The prize laureate of the Klingenthal international competition in Germany (1996) and winner of 3 contests: Diploma III All-Russia competition of folk music, Tula (1986), the international Button Accordion competition, Castelfidardo, Italy (1996), and the Far East Cup III Prize, Vladivostok (1998).
